Nice to meet you. My name is Yuki Okada, and I serve as the CEO of MEDBANK PTE. LTD. in Singapore.
I was born in Hiroshima, Japan, and obtained my medical license in 2019. During my university days, I started a business in Japan (SETOLABO), focusing on preventive medicine services, particularly cancer screening.
From a young age, I have been actively involved in study tours through organizations like YMCA and various volunteer groups, exploring countries such as Australia, Thailand, the United States, and South Korea to learn about the social issues they face. In my college years, I broke away from the boundaries of medical school and participated in regional revitalization projects in depopulated areas of Japan, engaging in community activities on islands and various prefectures. Furthermore, I independently traveled to numerous countries like India, Cuba, and Europe with just a backpack, learning about their cultures, religions, and poverty firsthand. In pursuit of medical knowledge, I pursued studies abroad at universities like the University of Brunei Darussalam, National University of Singapore, Chiang Mai University, and Chulalongkorn University, where I learned about international and healthcare in developing countries.
The passing of my grandfather due to terminal cancer led me to pursue a career in medicine, and later, my grandmother’s death from cancer, coupled with witnessing the collapse of the healthcare system in Thailand during my studies, drove me to focus on promoting preventive medicine through testing and education. During the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, I established an affordable and early testing system in Japan. I also made donations to Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, and I have been honored to receive the Order of the Precious Crown from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
Since 2021, I have expanded our operations to Singapore (MEDBANK PTE. LTD. )and Taiwan, aiming to create a healthy society with smiles through preventive medicine. My vision is to support people’s health by facilitating early disease detection and providing accurate medical information.
